Academic Coaching is for any undergraduate student seeking academic support, more effective study habits, and tools and resources necessary in all areas for overall collegiate success.
Academic Coaching is not Academic Advising, Career Counseling, Student Counseling Services, Tutoring, or Supplemental Instruction. These other services are linked throughout the website and we encourage students to take advantage of these services as warranted.
The Academic Coaching program consists of a one hour intake and five 30-minute appointments over the course of a semester. Students are welcome to return for services should they find their needs or circumstances have changed and further services are warranted.
No. The academic coach and student will work towards learning study skills applicable to any subject.
Academic coaching is a free service for undergraduate students. There is a $10 fee if a student no shows to an appointment. To avoid this charge students can call 334.844.5972 or stop by RBD Library, suite 0176 to cancel or reschedule their appointment.
Academic Coaches seek to support students in their collegiate success, which is why we provide General Information sessions. In a 30-minute one-on-one appointment a student can work with a coach to navigate the Academic Support programs, identify how each may be of benefit, and develop a plan for moving forward.
