About the Program
This course helps students think about their responsibilities, motivation, and self-awareness, and gives them tools to succeed. Students take part in activities, discussions, group work, writing exercises, and projects connected to Auburn. The goal is to help students feel ready and prepared to return to college life.
Students will be asked to think about what they want for themselves and from college, what they're willing to do to reach their goals, and how they can keep going even when things get hard.
Classes meet once or twice a week for 90 minutes, online, over 10 weeks (7 weeks in the summer). Using the On course: Study skills plus edition (3rd edition) textbook as a guide, Study Smart covers a variety of topics related to academic and personal achievement such as:

Important Information
Joining Study Smart requires a one-time registration fee and a commitment to meeting the course's expectations. Below, you'll find details on who can join, what it costs, and how grading works, so you can prepare for a successful experience.
Who can apply and when?
Study Smart is for students who are on suspension at Auburn University. It is not open to currently enrolled students or students who have already taken Study Smart before. We strongly encourage students to meet with their Academic Advisor first to talk about their academic status, the appeals process, and whether Study Smart is a good fit.
Students must apply online by Thursday, September 3 at noon (Central Time). If approved, students will get instructions for paying a one-time $150 registration fee. This fee must be paid online by Friday, September 4 at noon (Central Time) to be officially enrolled. Applications or payments submitted after these deadlines will not be accepted.
What does the program cost?
Students must pay a $150 fee to register. This fee cannot be refunded. Once your application is approved, the instructor will email you the payment portal link. You will also need a few other things for the class, like a textbook and something to keep your notes organized, such as a binder, notebook, or folder. The instructor will send instructions for buying the textbook after you register.
